Polaris 500 Magnum Engine Trouble
#1
Hi all,
I am haveing trouble with my 99 500 magnum..... 1st off here are the stat's the machine has 600 miles on it, it has the hich altitude jetting and all the rest is completely stock. What is happining is as soon as I start to really work the machine i.e. going up a long steep climb i.e. the engine is getting a good work out. It then powers out starts missing then quits. I have removed the gas cap when it starts doing it because it seems like it is vapor locking? but no luck. it will then start and work fine once it cools down. Now all the cooling is fine infact the fan on the rad is only just starting to kick in. I have ran a bypass to override the fan and have it on all the time. This makes no difference. One dealer told me they had one machine that did this and they wrapped the fuel tank with replective tape to keep the heat off. I have done this as well and no luck. I don't think it is an altitude problem either as it has happened at 4000 ft ASL and 8000 Ft ASL ??? any help would greatly be appreciated.
