Hi, I am thinking of getting the Kawasaki KFX400, I have ridden ATV's about three times, all auto POL 4x4's, I think they were 325's, not very fast at all. Recently I have become interested in getting a sport quad. I read a few articles on the Suzuki LT-Z400 and they don't recommend it for newbies. Heres where I need some opinions, preferably from people who also snowmobile. I have been a snowmobiler for about thirteen years, I ride a 600xc POL, I have a hard time believing that it would be difficult for me to control a 400cc 4stroke, I'm sure it's fast, and thats one reason I have become interested in quads lately, they seem to be getting faster and better. Any opinions would be appreciated, thanks.

They are referring to a beginner(kid), not someone of your experience. Get it, you will love it.

I would say that a newbie to ANY motorsports vehicle could get themselves hurt on a 400 sport quad but, with experience with throttle control and body position you will be fine. I have the Z400 and I am sure that you will have a blast on it.

Thanks guys, I really didnt think that I would have much of a problem, I just wanted to get some insight from people who have been in the sport for a while, there might have been a factor I wasnt thinking about.

Use a little self controll, be VERY conservative when learning to climb and you be fine.
