I have an 02 Raptor and was wondering if I removed my arrestor would it give my that low"Harley like" sound.I can't afford to get a pipe right now but do not want to damage anything. Also would rejetting be required?

Thanks,
J. Prentice

I removed the spark arrestor on my 01 raptor and it does give it a low tone and is now very loud. Not quite the harley sound though. I have not rejetted and have not had any problems. All I can say is if you plan on doing it, don't ride your raptor around a place that people are sensitive about noise polution. I have a friend that runs a gravel pit in my area and we were allowed to run their until somebody stupid ruined it for everybody. Therefore, the extra noise does not hurt anybody, because the place is out in the middle of BFE. You will start noticing a backfiring sound when your using the engine to brake the raptor, but that is expected when you remove the baffle. Hope this helps.
