My buddy just had the valves on his Raptor adjusted and now it makes a clank when you turn it off or dies. Just wondering what could have caused this.? Any ideas? Any replys will be appreciated.

It shouldn't have anything to do with the valves. Mine starting making that noise within a few months of when I bought it, before I even adjusted the valves for the first time. From what I've read on this forum, it's pretty normal and not dangerous.

Yes, thats normal for all Raptors. I suspect it's the counterbalancer coming to a rest.

ha ha!LOL

Gary, are you sure? A CLANK! sound don't sound to normal to me. Unless you ride a Cannondale. I have ridin with many Raptors and never heard a "clank" sound when the engine is shut off.

I hope to hear alot of CLANKIN going on this Saturday at 14mins place!

haha....well I assume it is a soft clank. If it's a loud clank, the engine probably would'nt be running anyway. Or maybe all the Raptors I have heard have the tranny going out.....lol.

As warrior007 said my old warrior did the same thing. I didn't think that the warriors had a decomp device. I actual think that it has something to do with the starter, this is just my opinon which normaly doesn't mean much.
