I did a search on previous posts and cannot find any info to answer this.

I am thinking about getting a LSR axle for my Raptor. I am debating whether to get a LSR raptor axle or a LSR Banshee axle. I currently have a stock banshee axle in my raptor because of the extra width of the axle when used with Raptor wheels, even though it is offset to
one side. My current hub face to hub face measurement with the stock
banshee axle is 34". According to the Lonestar website, all LSR Yamaha axles are +1-+3 over stock. A stock raptor axle, hub face to hub face is 31.25", so am I assuming correctly that the LSR axle will be 32.25" to 34.25" hub to hub, which is only 1/4" wider than what I already have with the stock banshee axle? Am I correct in assuming the LSR banshee axle will be 35" to 37" and will make my raptor 3 to 5" over the stock raptor axle length (with the offset spacers installed)?

I know the DuraBlue axles are the same for the banshee or the raptor, so this means the Durablue is +2 +4 for a banshee and +3 + 5 for a raptor using the offset spacer. Is this correct? I guess if this is correct, then a LSR Banshee axle is the same dimensions as Durablue Banshee or Raptor axle.

Are any of you that are running Durablue axles happy with the +3-+5 width or is it too wide for trails? I ride MX but also ride trails, so I want the width for mx but do not want to be too wide for the trails. I don't want to spend the money for a LSR raptor axle if I only gain ¼ inch in width!!! If I had the LSR raptor axle, I would never install into the +1 setting because I thing the raptor is to narrow to start with.
The LSR Banshee axle would make by tire to tire width 48", shouldn't be too bad, whataya think?

Please help.

Thanks

I've got a Durablue axle on my Raptor at full width, not compensating for the offset, but I may even it up with the spacers. It is wide as heck but not too wide for trails. I have only gotten stuck between trees once and that was my fault. If you really think about it, the majority of quads don't take the exact same line thru the trails so the trails are wider than the average quad anyway. I sure do like the axle though, even though I have heard that LSRs are better and offer a better warranty. As long as mine stays straight, I love it! I have been thru some pretty hairy trails with my Raptor, with the Durablue at full width and 1.5 inch spacers on the front with Elka zero preloads (which lower it and make the front even wider) and have had no problems. I'm talking about sideways, river eroded, almost falling off the side, driving with the sidewalls type of trails as well as wooded areas. Hasn't been a problem. But, with that said, there will always be some places you can't go, just as quads can't go some places where bikes can go. I would never go narrower again.

Thanks for the response slappie, glad you were able to decifer that.

Does anyone run a lonestar banshee axle in the raptor? Is the lonestar raptor axle much narrower or the same width?

thanks
