I heard a 400ex front sprocket will fit a Dale. I bought one. WRONG.... What about the rear ones also. Anybody know of another manufacturers sprocket that will fit???

I know for a fact that the 400EX rear sprocket will work. Not sure of any other applications that will work for the front.

A front sprocket for a KTM will work. I'm planning on trying a 14 tooth front, and a larger rear. It's going to be tough to find a larger rear sprocket though......400ex sizes only go up to 39 teeth. Might have to look at having a custom sprocket built.

With the larger front, it should cut down on chain wear and the slider. If you want to really get radical, a KTM 520 comes with a 15 tooth front. You'd be almost pushing 100mph then with the stock rear sprocket!

Thanks. I have a 39 rear off a 400ex. I am maxed out in second going up Sand Mtn, but can't pull third. Meeting some guys today on DS's and Raptors from here. "Whispering in a very quiet voice" I got to gear up so my 432cc will pass the 650's and 660's on the hill and in the big bowls. heheheh

All,

So if you went with a 14 front what will the back have to be to stay around stock gearing? Will this decrease the wear on the chain slide?

Any ideas?

Gearing calculator

Yes, it would reduce wear on the chain slider
