How often do you have to adjust valves on a raptor?
#1
I dont want to buy a raptor if you have to adjust the valves every 50hrs, because i could put those on in 2 weeks! I ride everyday for 3 hrs ... do you adjust the valves ONCE after 50 hrs or every 50hrs constant?

I do mine every 20 hours!!
I also change oil, spark plug & lube it every 20 hours & clean the air filter after every other ride or before & after every trip to the dunes.
These machines are ridden hard & require matinence on a regular basis.
I'm a bit picky though, you could probably go a little longer but I enjoy working on my quad.
IMO if you can't afford the time required to do the matinence required on a high performance quad, you don't need to have one. Maybe you need a nice Honda 2X4 utility, They'll run forever with just gas & oil, they'll run slowly though!!
I'm not trying to flame you or any thing but owning any high performance machine doesn't stop when you pay for it. It takes a commitment to regular matinance.
If you think that a Raptor is a PIA to maintain then you definatly don't want a Cannondale!! You have to pull the engine to adjust the valves, pull the front plastic to acess the air filter & remove the rear plastic & shock to change an oil filter & it's still tough to do.

That's not hard to figure out and he's right. After continued operation, the constant pounding of the valve stems on the seats compresses the seats thus cousing the clearances to be below spec. On a brand new bike, the initial check sometimes will indicate valves over spec, however.
