I have a Yoshi slip-on, K&N filter and removed the plastic part of the snorkle with a 152.5 jet. The area I ride at has a strict noise restriction so I installed the tec kit in my pipe(mediun core). I was not real impressed with the performance. What other mods like air box mods can I do. I do not want to completely remove the lid. I need more power!!

I was in the same boat with you as to not wanting to remove my lid. But you've got the K&N filter right? Here's what I'm going to do, of course this is all assuming that the airbox on my Z is very similar in size to that of the EX. Alright, first, get an outerwear for your K&N, very important. Then, as long as the dimensions of the airbox tops are about the same, get the outerwear lid for the EX and use that in place of the lid. It's a fabric outerwear lid to replace the plastic one. Of course it attaches with velcro (crap) so what I'm going to do is hollow out my lid to where it's just a frame and us that along with the stock clamps to hold the new top in place. You will have a lid that breathes, you'll have a precharger or outerwear on your filter, then you'll have your K&N filter. With all that, you should be fine as long as you don't do water over the seat height, and even then, you might be ok if you did the install of the outerwear custom like as explained above. Of course you'll need to re-jet, but boy howdy, we're talking real nice power gains from this mod. When I finally get all the right peices, I'll make sure to post some pics.
peace
