my brother just put on 26" 589's and they don't rub. the black plastic up front where it wraps around to the headlights, right on the corner, almost hits when you compress the suspension, but it doesn't. I've heard a couple people had troubles with the rear drive shft going out on the 450's with lifts

I have a 450es and I put 27" 589's on my stock wheels,I ride double 99% of the time and I've never had a problem hitting or rubbing.

I put 26" Dirt Devils which have tread about 2" deep under my 450S. These added height and a lot of width, about 4" wider in back. The tires clear all body, frame and suspension on stock rims. I got the same top speed on the speedo, which is actually faster because of the larger tire diameter. Steering is noticeably more difficult, and it was pretty stiff to start with. Traction is awesome, and nothing sharp has found its way through the 6 ply tires yet. I say lift away.
