Nahh.. I dont think thats really true.
When I had my bone stock 400EX, I raced numerous times a friends CR250 just for kicks.
He would walk away... but not very fast.
I know without a doubt that my ported & polished Quadzilla would take that same CR250 and not struggle to much.

Mr350X,
With equal weight riders my stock YZ426 will blow away a 60HP (dyno to prove it) Raptor, not walk away from it, blow it away. A 426 is not that much faster than a cr250 in a drag race, you're buds machine must have been worn out or he weighed a lot more than you.

A 426 is one fast machine... (from personal exp.)
one FAST machine. In my opinion, It has to be quite a bit faster than a CR250.
The CR rider I am reffering to probably weighed about the same as me or similar.
He was inexperienced on the bike, so his launches were kind of goofie, but once underway he
could do alright. I still stand my by thought that my Zilla would have whooped it though.
The YZ426 I seriously doubt. Matter of fact, I could race my buddies anytime. Just havnt yet.
I will soon just for kicks and let you know what happens.

My friend used to have a 00 kx 250 all stock i raced him on my r all my r had was a pipe reeds and a filter. He beat me by about 6 bike lenghs in a about a 1/8 mile drag it kinda looked liked my r was gaining on him on the top end in 6th and his 5th but i don't know my friend traded his kx for a banshee. My other friend rides a 91 cr 250 we raced up sand mountain utah he would beat me at the top by about 1-3 bike lenghs. My bike has pipe ported polished big carb v-force all the goddies besides going to a 295 sleve. His cr has a fmf pipe milled head wesico piston and he had a paddle and i had paddles too. I raced a 97 cr 250 up the mountain a couple weeks ago and i smoked him like he was standing still his bike was all stock except for a paddle and mine was all modded. I have not raced a 450f or a 426 but i have watched moddifed banshee like pipes and cool head get put to shame by a stock 426.
