How much is to be gained with the larger bore? I currently have a JE 12.1 piston & am now in the process of puting in a Hot Cams cam, and porting the head.

 

It will differ from cam, port, valve size, compression, carbs, exhaust, etc....

I know that a "mild 686" from Trinity will pull approx 59-63, I know I had one. So, for others I can't really speak, I just don't know.

I do know that Trinity has a more radical version of the 686 available now, that can be pushing 70.

what about just the 686 with no head work? Would it help? The dealership messed up my sleeve when they put the 02 tranny in. so I am having it bored out to the 686 because I will take it back apart to send to Trinty to have the head work done later. I do have a web cam in it now also and all the other go fast parts. So I guess what I am asking is how much more HP are you gaining from just head work?

 

I think I read on Trinity's site that they can get 10 hp out of the head. That is alot if you look that a piped Raptor is about 46 and a 686 is about 63.
