Help me speed up my Warrior, PLEASE!?
#1
I am looking to give my Warrior a little more help. I am kind of wondering if anyone has any good ideas to help boost my hp. I already have a Air Filter, FMF full exhaust and rejetting. I was thinking about drilling some holes in the airbox lid and putting in the vents but will I have to rejet again?? I read up on that Torque Stuffer from Alba and was wondering if it was worth the $30? Also Alba has a cam and spring kit which also comes with a piston, is that a good idea or even hard to install? Another thing im wondering is how I should go about redoing the sprockets? Are there any really good combos? A buddy of mine has a +1 on the front and -2 on the back of his 400ex and it gives a stock Raptor a run for its money, and I mean VERY VERY close race within a bikes length. I know the powerbands are different and all but im looking for more out of my warrior, I hate looking like a fool out on the dunes getting stuck at the top of a hill from my ATV bogging down. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

What kind of air filter do you have if you still have the stock setup junk it in the garbage and buy the prodesign filter setup. I comes w/ a billet alluminum adapter wich allows the filter to be clamped on buy hose clamps. In return you can take your lid totally off since the pro design is made to run that way. Also what kind of tires do you have.

Slowwarrior, You probably got the most hp gain that you would ever get without going larger on the piston. But you could cut your lid or go buy an aftermarket one, I can't remember who sells them. You could still do it to get more air flow. And those torque stuffer's may be a good idea but your gonna lose your top end, just like how you should of lost some of your bottom end with the pipe. In order to gain some you will loose some.
And if you are good at machine work, getting a hi comp. piston (stock bore) and new valves and stuff, you shouldn't have to many problems. I still don't see how that 400ex would give a raptor a run for its money though. All he did was make it faster and the lost a lot of his accel. maybe you mean on the road side to side, but not in a drag theres no way.

I redid my step dads Warrior last year with the Alba Kit. It came with a full race cam, valve springs, 11:1 piston, gaskets, jets and a K&N filter. He also got there exhaust. The power increase is tremendous! In a drag race it was as fast if not a little faster than my buddies piped LT250R. We Also put in 2 2in uni vents in the lid. I would say it was well worth the money. You do have to have the cylinder bored to the next size. This spring he had some port work done to the head and freshend it up with a new set of rings. I was realy suprised with the outcome of this kit. It will realy wake up your warrior. If your not that good with motors you may want to have a shop install the kit or have some one who knows somthing help you out.

I forgot one thing, the power increase is so great the stock clutch wont last long so you might want to get different clutch kit. Preferabley a barnette. I have had the best luck with that one.

You were getting stuck at Silver Lake? With paddles on? Ouch! Your next step for more power is to go inside the motor, new high compression piston and cam. The piston and cam operate as a package; you really need both to get the maximum effect and it cuts down on the re-jetting hassle to change them both at once. Make sure you get the .390 and not the .450 cam. Check outHere for a variety of Warrior engine kits and the oil cooler. The owner also used to race Warriors in national comps.
You can also go +1 on the front sprocket right now, especially if you're running 20" paddles. First gear is pretty low. Along with the increased HP comes increased heat, and the answer for that is an oil cooler like the one from Four Stroke Tech. I've had mine about two years now and have been very happy. The Torque Stuffer (got one of those too) improves low end torque without sacrificing top end. It is a small stainless venturi that goes in the headpipe to speed up exhaust flow at low speeds. White Brothers first developed it for Harley Davidsons and now they have several models for different four strokes.

hey 95warrior why do you say to only get the 390 and not the 450. i also would like to know if you had to do any thing to the header to put in the stuffer, i hear you have to grind the weld a little for it to pop in.
slowwarrior dont get the alba kit its not worth the money. it would be better to by every thing idividualy. get the webcam 390mid or 430race cam and webcam ti valve spings a high comp piston
top end gasket kit that will run you about $300+ $100 cam core charge thats refundable. albas kit is $430.mtecate4g is write you will need a new clutch, get barnett $100 and also get the a pro flow and dont waste money on a air box lid. but hey that just my opinion
