Have any of you used a 43 tooht rear sprocket on a raptor with the 13 tooth front? Will the stock chain fit? If not can links be added to chain or will I need to buy a new one?

i've got a 42 on mine. one option would be dropping a tooth on the front to a 12. just about the same ratio (12-40 is 3.33 and 13-42 is 3.30, stock is 3.07) and cheaper. i race in the woods so i run a 12-42 combo. that way i'm mostly in 2nd gear instead of always havivg to shift from 1st to 2nd with the stock set up.
good luck

Thanks for the input bigdaddy.I'm considering a 12 tooth c/s but thought it would be better to go bigger on the rear. And it's not much more money if I can use my stock chain. 13/42 is 3.23, 13/43 is 3.31, and a 12/40 is 3.33.

Put on the 43 tooth rear sprocket. Fits with the stock chain and clears my PRM skid, but just by a hair or two.I've only rode it around my property so far but feels much better.

I have 13/42 with enough room for proper chain slack.
