Where too find Raptor '02 gearset?

Good luck Gary!!
I am still waiting on just one part out of 26 that we had to order. The "gear one drive" is still on B/O for me. I'm tired of waiting, I know that!
But when I look at some of the others, I guess it ain't too bad,,,, Swytak has been down since January waiting on his motor. 7 months!! I couldn't stand it.
I wish that I could help ya Gary, (hell, i wish i could help myself even) it's going to be tuff to find everything at one time. If you haven't yet, just go ahead and get the stuff ordered. That way you are at least on the B/O list waiting to be served.
Good luck man, you will need it

As you have already been told by eRaptoid, "Good luck"!
I have a perfectly good 2001 complete set, interested? I didn't think so, but it is in perfect shape. It was the replacement from my original 01 failure and I never had problems with this one, so? It probably has no more then 150 hours on it.
Unfortunately, things that Rap owners are having problems with on the forum will be on BACK ORDER (tranny parts, clutch assemblies, and starter components). Demand is higher then supply and Yamaha is reaping the benefits by selling these items 2 and 3 times to the same owners.
Yes, I have been down for approx 7 months. Mostly because of all the back orders. Yamaha took 3 months to decide not to warranty the rod that failed, Carillo-3 month B/O, 02 reverse gear-2 month B/O, clutch basket assembly( I only needed the oil pump gear from it)-3 week B/O, FCR's-6 week B/O.
The back orders are definitely out of control!
Good luck Gary,

just to let you all know, the 01 have a bad rap at the dealers.(probably because they can't get the parts to fix the ones in their shop) they don't even want them. i have a perfectly fine 01 raptor and was trying to see what i could get towards trade on a 03, and had one dealer tell me that they're not really wanted on their lot because of the problems they have had with the 01's. nice, last year they were the best thing since sliced bread and now even the yamaha dealers don't want them... so if your thinking of getting ride of your 01, expect to be asked, is the starter going ?, tranny shot? well then i'll give 3600.00 to 4400.00 for it depending on condition and the price on the new 03. just my $.02

660bigdaddy,
Personally, I wouldn't trade it. Why would you? The starter from what I understand has not been changed in the 02 or 03's. Sure the trans was updated in 02, but for the difference of what $2100, you could easily get the 02 trans and have it installed in your 01 plus some.
I would buy the 02 trans and send your entire motor out for a 686 and have that trans installed. Now you will have a Rap that is more then competitive and is more relible too.
Unless the color of plastic is that important to you or you are just looking to spend money, consider your other options.

no it's more than just about color of plastic. i ride/race in the woods and more power is not really needed. also 7 months of down time doesn't sound good. plus it's time to get rid of it or put a bunch of money in a 01 and still have a 01 when i'm left.
