Before I am sent to my room without supper I know what the manual says about proper tire inflation. I also know that a tighter tire is faster. I never put my Raptor in the mud (unless it is unavoidable) I like to ride on open roads and trails. Have any of you raised the tire pressure on the Stock Dunlaps and had good results. What is a good tire pressure for Open road riding?

I currently run raptor rear Tyres on my DS650 , for hard packed trails , I find if i run them at 4.5PSI they tend to wheelspin , where as with 2.5psi they grip good , this was put to the test in a 1 mile shootout and i shaved 2 seconds off my time with the lower pressure .

Good luck !

The manufacturers tend to be a little coservative on tire pressures, even on cars & trucks.
I have always run 6 PSI on any sport or performance quad and up to 10 PSI on a utility quad on occasion. I depends somewhat on how hard one rides. Riding with lower pressures (under 6PSI)risks lossof the bead seal in hard cornering or jumping. It definitely will create understeer due to rollover of the tire in cornering. Especially on any stock tires.
