Anyone got a top speed on the Prarie 360????
#2
My buddy clocked me at 45mph. Pretty slow compared to his Grizzly 660, but he has 300 more cc's to play with. On the trails where I ride top end is not really important. My is pure stock. If anybody knows of any modifacations I can do to get more power and ground clearance let me know.

I am so close to buying the 360. It has everything need:
Front locking diff
Mid size
2/4 wheel
Great Brakes!
The only concern is some vibration issues? What say you aggie? Also can you be in any gear to lever into locking differential?

You don't "shift" the front diff into lock, like the suzuki, it's a lever on the left grip you pull to "lock up" the diff. It is meant to be pulled when under power and you need the extra traction, then just let go to return to the limited slip 4x4.
They also state that you need to stop to shift into 4x4, this is just a laywer deal. It is designed to be shift on the move. If you stop and flip the switch it won't go into 4X until you start moving again where if you flip it on the move it engages almost instantly.
There is a touch more vibration on the 360, than on other machines I've riden, but not so much to be a concern. I wouldn't call it a midsize machine (unless you mean just motor size) The 360 is a tall and large quad, with alot of room for the rider. I've had mine for about 3 months now, the only real complaint I have about it is the noise. While it is not "loud" by any stretch of the imagination, All of my previous machines were quieter, especially at low and mid power levels. (previous machines... '93 honda 300 4x4, '96 polaris sport 400, '84 ATC 250R "conversion", '93 quadrunner 250 4x4).
As for more power and clearance... The bigfoot kits will get you a bit, but make it harder to steer and put your handling right in the toilet. A pipe, air filter, and jet will generally get you a tad (meaning small/miniscule) increase in power with a massive increase in noise.
My advise... If you want more power in a utility machine, buy one with a bigger motor. The 650 is a rocket and is only $1100 more in my neighborhood.
Oh...45 is about right for top speed, and the brakes WILL stop you ( and a passenger) right the heck now!
