from my research, it seems as though yamaha has downgraded the amount of features on the 400 kodiak. could someone please confirm if my research is correct. It seems that they have taken away the ability to change from high/low transmission, and taken away the PARK feature. why would they downgrade a machine?

The 03' 450 kodiak has - Yamaha Ultramatic® V-Belt with all-wheel engine braking / Hi,Lo,Neut.,Rev.,Park - straight from yamaha's spec sheet.

As far as the engine upgrade it's a very minor stroking job, but they also decreased the compression, so no the "450" isn't gonna put out much if any more power than the older motor configuration.
