The 145 and 148 jets are installed. I'm going to put up pictures of the process. I've never installed jets and I was pleased with how smooth it went. There are three things that made it go well:
1. This forum - read up on the jet issues
2. Get all the junk out of the way - remove the covers and air box
3. The Service manual

I also sync'd my carbs, also a first for me, with a carbtune II. If you don't have one of these, get one. www.carbtune.com. I ordered my on the 25th and it arrived in PA on the 31. It's a no brainer to use if you follow the directions and Kawi made syncing a piece of cake by using a single adjustment screw. Put all four dampers in the carbtune. I was off by 4 and got it sync'd to so-close-to-zero-you-can't-tell without any difficulty.

Dear Dealer:

Goodbye.

Regards,
Sgt_Rock

I am very interested in this kit. Did you get the 2 column or the 4 column kit?

I got the 2 column. It is definately smoother running and you an hear it smooth out as get them sync'd. I didn't put the carbtune on before I rejetted, so I'm not sure where it was before.

I rode on the P650 this weekend with the new jets and it ran great. Significant improvement on the bottom end and it is definately running cooler.

I didn't get to shoot the top speed, but hit 57mph without any trouble.

Peace,

gtchief,

I was riding in the Tower City area this weekend and I don't know how that compares to your ALT., but it's probably similar.

I got the jets from the Kawi dealer for $7.08 each, but it seems that I probably overpaid for them. What I may have overpaid isn't worth the effort of searching too much though. The service manual was $36.95, although it is of limit use in changing the jets. It does give you a good photo of the carbs. However, the service manual was helpful with the sync as I've never done that before. It shows where to hook up the carbtune and which screw to use to adjust.

The CarbTune II was around 62.53 plus about 4.69 in shipping. I say about because it depends on the current exchange rate. There is a link to the currency converter on the prices page of www.carbtune.com.

I'm not a really mechanical guy, but I did the change and sync in about 2 hours.

Total cost: Jets 14.16
Svc Man. 36.95
Carbtune 67.22
---------------
118.33

It's hard to lump the Svc.Man. and Carbtune into just this project as I'll use them on an ongoing basis. If you know what your doing and don't want to sync or need the Svc. Man., it's $14 project.

Peace,
Sgt_Rock

Thanks alot sgt rock,
I've seen the manual on ebay for under 15 alot of times. that would be a good thing to have anyways. so I guess the main thing would be the carbtune. do you know if installing the jets will affect my warranty at all? tower city is pretty close to me i think. I'm from near scranton. thanks for your help.

sgt rock,
one more thing. I'm guessing the carbtune is to balance the carbs out. how does it work? as in what do you hook it up to? also, did you get the 2 column or 4? thanks again for your help.
