I'm pretty sure I remember how all that goes together, but I don't want to tell you wrong, so I'll look at the diagram in the shop manual when I get home from work in the morning and hopefully post back tomorrow if I don't forget. I've messed with too many brands to keep them all straight in my head, so I always double check with the diagrams.
Sorry for the late response...

Cool.
The Hondas have an real thin o-ring on each side of the axle, outside of the carrier, to keep water out of the spline, but I couldn't remember if the DS did or not.

So where exactly is "Hickville"?

The axle assembly has at least one o-ring that I can remember. I think it was in the piece that the big aluminum adjusting nut goes on. I distinctly remember pulling on that piece and it stuck on the groove for the circlip. The reason it stuck was an o-ring. Whip out that manual and help these guys
Hightower.

You know, now that you mention that I remember that too Mysteroid. Seems like the o-ring has the same purpose as the ones on the Honda - to keep water out of the spline. I'll check the book in the morning.

Hickville sounds a lot like Greencastle.
Sorry, but I didn't get to look anything up this morning - 14 hour shift and then I had to mow the lawn, so I forgot all about it. I will though, hopefully this next morning.
