Hey all

I just got back from another Big Bay Michigan ride. We did about 400 miles in 4 days out there and got into ALOT of mud. Check out these pics:

Those are of my P650 and me. I am waiting on the pics my friend took to scan and put online so you can see how bad i was really stuck. It took 2 winches to get me out. I had the camera so those are the only shots i could get. If you want to see the entire ride for that weekend click here:

Click this link and then click where it says "Big Bay Michigan ride pics (07-31-02) - NEW "

enjoy

Wow, that was entertaining.

It saved me from having to pay money to go see a movie, too.

Those are some great pictures lackdog. How does your camera hold up to the bumps, looks like it a good one, do you just keep it in the handlebar bag?

thats stuck. i've seen stuck before, and thats it, lmao!!!
lackdog. i have been to your sight a few times, and am so excited about all you have to say about big bay, i had to book a trip. i made the call 2 days ago, and am going there the 7th through the 11th of september. i will be arriving there late saterday night, and leaving wednesday morning. i am going with 2 griz 660, and 1 sportsman 500. if you have time off, and are going again, then we could all do the tour together!!!
by the way, i would have been in that mud right behind ya, or in front, heehee. as long as the airbox doesn't go under, i'll go through anything!!! just hate all the oil changes trying to get the water out, lol.
i do have a few questions about the hotel and the tour, if you dont mind.
1.) the tour, is there alot of differant things to ride through? ( like water, mud, rock crawling, mountains, tech stuff???)
2.) how should i pack with cloths? is it alot colder up there?
3.) is the tour fast pased, or more of a slower scenic tour?
thanks for your time, and for showing me why its so nice to go up to the u.p.!

my pictures

Hey mich660griz

yeah there is alot of diff terrain to ride and I mean alot. we'll go through some of the most technical terrain you can think of...hope you are a good rider and yes there is mud as u can see from the pics and water crossings, etc. you can't see it all in one day though, but you got a long trip planned and i will probally try and get up there to ride with you.

About the cloths, usually it is colder up there but last week when i was there it was kinda warm. Cold at night though and some of the days it was kool, high of 70. We did do some night riding which was awesome and we went to the top of a high overlook and wathced the northern lights. first time i seen them and ohh my damn where they awesome. i would bring a varying range of cloths. I brought enough cloths for like 2 weeks and i was only there for 4 days. Never can be to safe ya know.

The tour. It depends, slow paced through the tech stuff and faster on faster terrain. you wont be disapointed and its a long haul. You will see stuff that you would never be able to see on your own. 2 people came up there to ride when we were there and they went out on there own and kept doing a big loop cuze they would have got lost. they came out with us the next day and were amazed....they would have never been able to see what they saw with us on their own. you can foloow the snowmobile trails, but thats lame....the tours are sooo worth it.

anyway hope i answered your Q's.....private message me and il call ya on the phone so we can get together when you go up there. I will try and make it for sure. it might be an 8 hour drive for me but its worth it..
