Hey,

2 Questions:

I've searched the forum (read hundreds of posts), and even asked this question before, but still haven't got a clear idea. How fast would a modded out 250x be? say it's bored .060 over, hi-comp piston, mild cam, pipe, air filter, and any other easy bolt on mod. what would that make it comparable too? any estimate on top speed with 22" tires? (would 22"s hurt acceleration much?)

Next question: does NC title 4wheelers? i'm going to have to buy a used quad. i've read some horror stories here of what happens when you accidently end up with a stolen quad. definitely don't want that to happen to me. i looked at one '00 400EX and the guy said he'd lost the title but would write me a bill of sale. would that sufice? where are serial #'s generally located?

thanks,
bigmac

Hey,

"new" quads? how about older quads? (late '80's and early '90's) when did they start titling quads?

also, still hoping for an answer to the other questions as well.

thanks,
bigmac

Well i dont know how fast the 250x goes exactly. I have a cobra pipe, k&n filter, and rejeted the carb and i cant beat a 500 scrambler, warrior, blaster, and a mojave.... and thats nothing hardly done to it compared to what you can do to a 250x. what are your experience w/ the 250x.

If you want a fast 250X build it like mine . I'm not geared for top speed but the way I have my engine set up, the power pulls HARD right from the bottom all the way up till redline.

Hey,

need4speed - what exactly have you done to your 250x? i agree, top speed isn't everything. in fact if you ride trails, you don't top out very often. so strong pulling throughout the rpms is important. what quads have you beaten?

Hey,

humm, that does sound odd. i'm certainly no quad mechanic, but my first guess would be the jetting. did you rejet the carb after you did all of the mods? also, his shorter tires will equate to a lower gearing, so that might account for some of the off the line grunt, but you should have him in the top end. just my $.02
