I am looking for a small (like 2&quot tach for my Rap. I am wondering if there is anything available that can be installed and used like the one the shops use? Just clamp the connecter on the plug wire and mount the tach and that's it.

Anybody use a tach or know where I might look?

Yea, that;s not too bad. Thanks for the info.

For $140 and to see this statement on the site, "the tach indicated engine RPM may fall slightly behind actual RPM when the throttle is aggressively operated - (quickly revved and let off)." I am not really too enthused about this particular one.

Anything else?

I don't think you will find one that doesnt lag. Every tach Ive looked into has lag..or so they say. Im not willing to blow a few hundred dollars to find out

To get a tach to have instant response it has to be wired in to the ignition like an automotive tach.

I'm going to wait for the new ignition box to come out it has a connection for a tach, shift light & Nitrous (when I can afford it) & just add a shift light, it's all I have time to look for any way.

I have the Yamaha tach & like all induction tachs it's slow to respond but it's good at a constant speed & thats all I need it for now.

Thanks MOOSE. I am probably going with the new CDI as well, but just thought maybe I could get my hands on a decent tach for a reasonable price before then. Thanks!
