Who fed you that load of cowflop??? My Wolverine was ridden very hard for 6 years before I put a piston in it,and that was because I wanted more motor for bigger tires and to keep up with my son's EX.They are great on the trail,7.1" of travel gives a great ride, jumps almost as good as some sportier models, and corners great on twisty trails. The drivetrain is very strong, I have heard of bent axles on some, but I have jumped long and hard for years with no problems whatsoever. With disc brakes front and rear, stops easy, and steep hills are no problem. I know,as an owner, I am probably a little biased, but this has been my experience with mine so far.

If had to to buy a quad again I buy 2 of them just Becuase I love it that much. The only way I would buy another quad is for speed. The Wolverine is one of the best quads I ever seen its not the fastest but It'll keep up with anything on the trail and it has enough speed on straights thats content with me. It jumps good, awesome in the mud does great on hill climbs, brakes, drivetrain all awesome. I think the stock tires suck. It responds to mods well, easy to work on I love it. Thats just me, buy what you want but you wont go wrong with the wolverine.

The wolverine is a great bike. I took my 98 wolv (sold last spring) to 2 atv jamborees, ran the rubicon trail, and the sledgehammer trail in California... plus other trail riding in Oregon and Washington. I put around 400 hours of riding on that bike, and all I ever had to do was change the oil, clean the filter, lube the chassis, and adjust the valves. I'd say it's a pretty bulletproof bike, and it responds very well to mods (pipe, jetting, air filter, airbox mods, cams, and high compression pistons). I've seen many wolverines outrunning the big 500+ cc 4x4 quads on the trails.
