Anyone race in northeast Texas?

I'm pretty new to the area and I can't seem to find anyone to ride with, or at least anyone that doesn't stop for a break every 10 min. I actually went out riding a couple of weeks ago on the red river around Oklanunion and no one would ride with me. There were tons of people there on ex's, r's, and zuki's but none of them were wearing helmets and all they wanted to do was drag race. They all acted very intimidated when I asked them to hit the trail with me and then they just flat out refused! WTF? I'm going to the MX track in Nocona Saturday night. Will anyone else be out there? Should I go on to Gainsville? I looked at the track in Nocona and it was EXTREMELY well groomed and it only costs $10 to practice all day and you can go on and off the track as you please. This sounds great to me seeings how I'm used to quads getting limited time on the track. Someone PLEASE let me know.

You should come to Village Creek tomorrow (Aug 17th) night. It's round one of the Full Moon Series. Also, we are home of the TQRA, so you'll find yourselft plenty of competition around here. PM me if you want any info about certain tracks. All I do is MX, and we have places like Mosier Valley, Weatherford MX, Village Creek, Badlands MX, Greenville MX, Caddo Point, Swan, Fourstates (my personal least favorite track ), Athens MX (not far behind Fourstates), and a few more here and there. The first 3 I listed are around the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and the next 3 are around Greenville. Most of the time, the Pro TQRA class has some DAMN FAST RIDERS, so I doubt you would feel held back. Unless you're a Pro or "A" class GNC rider. I'm an intermediate rider, so from the sound of it, I would probably not be a good competition for you.

I didn't mean to come off like I was a pro rider or anything, I could probably do pretty well in most intermidiate classes though. Really, I don't know why those guys wouldn't ride with me, I mean, I'm not a freak or anything. They just asked me what kind of riding I do while staring at my quad. I told them that I would like to hit the trails pretty fast and they all just said "no thanks". Whatever. I've only been on an MX track a few times and it's been a while since then so I'm gonna get some good practice under my belt before I do any racing, but I'd love to get info on all the tracks around here so I'll email you Yodaddy. Truth be known, I'm itchin' to do some woods racing.
Thanks,
JP

Boogerbub, do a search for OCCRA (Oklahoma Cross Country Race Assoc.). They have woods type races and have one at Lake Murray each year. I think the season is about over, but if your stationed in WF next year, you might want to try some of these.
YoDaddy/mxdale71, have you ran any of the TQRA races this year? My son is wanting to try this and we have been to several of the races lately.

I raced at Village Creek last night, and that Intermediate class is pretty tough. I rode that track for my first time, got 3rd in the holeshot in the first moto, and my clutch side grip started sliding off. I made a mistake on a double and a TON of people got around me on it and in the next corner. I ended up w/ like 10th out of 11 . Moto 2, I stalled it at the gate (that was a first for me) and by the time I got it started again, everyone was already leaving the first corner. I caught up to 9th at the end of the first lap and all of a sudden my seat flew off! I couldn't get around the guy infront of me because I was having to stand up in the corners and by the last lap, I was SOOOOOO tired. Just try racing hard for 4 laps and never touching the seat... it's pretty tiring in those corners. I also didn't want to jump real hard and risk a hard landing... I imagine my butt slamming on to the gas tank would not feel to great. So round 1 of the full moon series was not a great success for me.
P.S. I NEEEEEEEEEEED SOME SPONSORS! I was almost talked into buying a bike and selling my cannondale due to high costs of racing quads! Ask anyone that knows me, I have quad racing running through my veins, and the fact that I was almost talked into buying a bike, is PRETTY BAD. Most of the racers have Daddy pay for everything and they just don't understand why I think quad racing is so expensive. Payments, $6 an hour, part time job, school, racing, and gas... that DOES NOT make a good combo. I'm not trying to get any sympathy, I know others have it worse, but that doesn't mean I couldn't use a little help. If anyone can give me some good tips on how to make a GOOD resume, could you please PM me? Thats all I ask, I'll do the rest . Thanks.
