warn wench wont work

i just cleaned my grizzly and was going to wench it up to wash the skid plates, and the wench doesn't work. all the connections are tight, and the cylinoid clicks when i turn it on, so i know its working. anyone have a sudjestion on what i could do, what to check, and if there is a ( common) problem with them?

Could be that the wire is tangled up? I know my friend had that problem with his winch. Only would go out like 3 feet and it was tangled from there so no more would come out. Attached it to my quad and give it a lil gas and it came loose. Then of course re did it all nice and straight.

Hey Mitch, Take a set of jumper cables and run them from your car /truck battery and touch them to the terminals directly on the winch. (+ & - don't matter) The winch should start to turn. If it does, the problem is likely in your switch, if not it is in the winch itself. Hope this helps,

(BTW, when I saw the title "Wench won't work" I thought you were talking about the wife! I was gonna reply "Mine won't either!" LOL!!)

If your battery is low on charge it will not work till battery is fully charged. My Kodiak's battery won't take a full charge so it takes like 30 minutes of riding before the winch will work, then it works fine.

frogman, thats just cold man, lmao!!! true,but cold, heehee.
recycled, i pulled it out easy to hook it to the tree, but it wont go back in, lol!
ry guy, thats a great idea!!! i never even thought of it, lol. i will try that after 1 other attempt. thanks for the thought!!!
jham, its funny you mentioned that. i had to charge my battry last week, couse it went dead!!! i am going to hook up the charger, and see if its fully charged. if not, i will charge it, and see if it works. thanks alot for the tip!!!

the solonoid is bad by pass it see if it works. mine went bad and i removed it. clicking is just the magnet its the contacts in the relay that are open. id just use a heavy wire and jump across it b4 removing/or replacing[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
