That doesn't sound right, alot of Quads, Bikes and Snowmobiles are air cooled, and the hot weather would just make it run Fatter, richer, slower, colder weather would lean it out and burn it up though.

Thats a big line of crap, i have a warrior and a blaster, it is stupid to even say that, if it was gonna blow up because of hot weather they wouldnt make it air cooled.it will run rich and be sluggish in the heat and wont be very peppy. mines got an fmf power core 2 and a gold series fatty on it and ive run the crap outa it in 95+ weather and it never has a problem. as of cold leanin it out it will just run really good then it wont blow i mean are u people dumb or sumthin?????

Lol even some cars have air cooled engines. The Volkswagen beetele one the most reliable cars of all time has an air cooled engine and im sure if you drive it in the heat it wouldnt blow. I know its not a 2-stroke but im trying to make a point.

I live in Arkansas, hot and very humid. I had a 98 Blaster which I could ride all day in the heat, only problem was sweat in the eyes. Yamaha designed it to be reliable and economic for the buyer. About all of your mopeds are air cooled two strokes, and they dont burn up from riding in the heat. Is your friend trying to discourage you from buying a blaster?

Just remember this, probably the most reliable Hi perf. quads of all time is air cooled. the Honda 400 EX. But hey, thats a Honda not a Yamaha, right? LOL

That probably doesn't help you at all but I felt like chiming in this time.

My bigbear is air cooled, and I was running it all weekend in 100 degree weather. It is not a speed deamon by any means, but it ran great and seemed good in low gears going up hills.
