For christmas this year i am probably gonna get an exhaust system. I have heard good things about the dmc system and the white brothers but alot of people tell me dont get the head pipe because it adds too much noise for the little preformance it does and i ride in illegal high tension wires. I was wondering if the head pipe a real noticable amount of preformance. My friend says the supertrapp ids2 exhaust system is not that lound witht the headpipe and gives out preformance.

The headpipe on the 300EX is restrictive. The silencer however is not. If I were you I'd get the 3" Powroll Supertrapp. It's $200 and you get the complete system. It's not overly loud and the performance gains are phenomonal.

We have an FMF PowerCore IV2 on the 300. IT COMES WITH A HEADER!! They don't even sell the muffler without a header. That should tell you something about that miserable, little stock header. This setup is fairly loud, but gives great performance throughout the powerband.
