Maybe some of you can help me out. I am thinking about selling the Raptor and getting either a 250R or a Banshee. I like drag racing some, but like to trail ride, climb hills and mx(try) more. Anyone have an idea about how much a decnt 250R would run a person? not modified to the hilt yet. Also, any pros or cons about the 250R compared to banshee or raptor are appreciated.

I did just the oppisite of you, I traded my 86 250R for my Raptor.
I see them in the bargan post for around $3500 for one that needs work to $10,000 for a race ready.

I got tired of always having to mess with it! I had to do a complete rebuild 2 years in a row including welding a hole in my case.
I also broke the trans 2 years in a row.

If you really want one go for it! They are a blast! Just be ready to tinker with it almost as much as you ride it! All 250R's are getting old & most have been rode hard for many years.

You can get a nice Shee that's a couple of years old for around $4000 & they have a lot of go fast parts availible. But it is still a 2 stroke & will require more matinence. It'll never handle as well as the 250R or Raptor without a lot of $$$$ but I think it's a better option.

I never looked back after I got my Raptor!

Realistically, how much more does the Raptor weigh than the 250R? Is it that much better in the air?

I am not to sure on the weight but I have jumped my raptor and my friends 250r and the R jumps a lot nicer than my rappy does.

Mine is for sale. My wrist was severely shattered and I am selling my toys.

I have a nice 86 with PEP shocks and a Duncan national motor in Tucson, AZ. If you are interested, I can send you pics.
