2001 Scrambler 400 2x4 question...

I don't have the manual. Can someone tell me how the chain is adjusted. I didn't see any obvious adjuster nuts like you'd find on a dirt bike. Thanks...

First you need to loosen all the carrier bolts for the axle including the brake just loosen not take out. then incert a screw driver in one of the sprocket holes until it grabs the hole on the hub you need to rotate the axle while doing this so you can find the hole. Once you found the hole it is just a matter of turining it in the right direction. good luck

What exactly am I turning; the hub?

yes, you are turning the hub. you can also use a pipe wrench once you have the 4 bolts loose. Turn it so the grease zerk moves toward the engine, that is tightening it. When it won't tighten anymore, bring it back just a little, and you should be about right!
