Well, the stock bearing carrier on my 86 R took a crap on me this weekend. Got 16 years out of her....can't complain.

Anyway... I need a new one...carrier and all, it's toasted, the outer bearing race fell out!

What do i want?...i mainly do woods and trails, hill climbs, and an occasional MX or GNCC

Dual row is obviously stronger, but the tapered withstand huge side loads. I want the one that will take the most abuse! What company do i want it from?

HELP!

With the power you get from an R engine, tapered is definately the way to go,they average about 16 TIMES stronger than factory set up,so it should be the last one you ever buy. Get a Dirt Wheels mag, you will find more sources than you can shake a stick at, Motoman, Magic Racing, etc. all carry what you want, looks like the price is around 230 bucks for tapered, 180 for dual row,for the extra 50,I'd go for the tapered.

I use an older model RAD carrier, tapered on the chain side and double roller on the brake side. I would go with all tapered -cost a little more but a whole lot stronger. Both of my riding buddies have lone star carriers with twin rollers on both sides, and have had to replace the bearings once, but no real problems. These bikes are used on moto x only.
