I was thinking about putting nitrous on my 400ex i would like anyones help or information on what kind i should get or and were or if its a good idea or not thanx...

 

Not to sound like Mr.Negative, but why would you want Nitrous on your 400? The only reason would be for drag racing really.

The 400ex is not a drag racer when it comes off of the show room floor...your gonna need a lot of mods to compete with the big boys.

Unless your only function for the bike is drag racing it I wouldn't do it...Nitrous is a great bang for the buck mod, but it's not meant for the every day rider. It's hard on the engine regardless, but if it isn't set up right it can be deadly and your 4-stroke powerplant is costly to rebuild.

If you have an endless amount of cash, by all means soup up the EX...it would be great to see one of them all set up, but if you are like me and cash is an issue I'd get something else.

hey i have the money i am putting like all my money into this quad becuz everyone talks smack on 400ex so i just wanna show some of these ppl up around where i live...and when i am all done with it i will take pics and show u guys....its just i need some help on what i should all invest in to make these best fast....and the NITROUS is gona be for racing not everyday ridding..thanx for any help guys

 

check with some engine builders and see if you can put some NOS on one of those 500 or 505ex kits. that would be nice. but what compression do you want to use when you have nitrous? thats what Ive always wondered. what all is done to the motor now??

 

a massive big bore kit, carb, jets, exhaust/pipe, gearing, cam, cylinder, and more should be done if you want real performance. because once the nos runs out, youre done for the day.

there was a raptor with nos where i usually ride. he is the fastest guy on the hill drags for a while, but then his quad runs just like the raptor with minor mods that it is.
