what do you need to clean a K&N filter? The box says "no gas" but alot of people have said they use it. Where's a good place to buy the oil and how often do you need to clean it if you're in mud and dust often ???

Only use the K&N Recharge kit for the filter. It comes with the cleaning solution and recharge oil. Also, follow the instructions EXACTLY.. NO COMPRESSED AIR, and don't over-oil it after cleaning. We had to buy a new K&N for my friends 400EX yesterday because he cleaned it, and re-oiled it WAY to MUCH..!!.. I wasn't paying attention to what he was doing and didn't realize he DIDN'T know what he was doing.!!!..hahahaha IT (the filter) will be fine in a couple of weeks when some of the oil drains off of it, but he was headed to Shiloh Ridge today to race...
