I asked yesterday about getting a good price on an 02 500 HO and got some good response here. But I just couldn't wait any longer, so I bought one today!!! It's an 03 instead of 02. Bought it for $5949 - out the door price. Did I pay too much? I just couldn't find dealers willing to go down any further in this area. I bought the 03 because I wanted the more aggressive tires and it wasn't much more than the 02 model.

Really? Why are the 2003 models to be cheaper? I need to know because I can still take the 02 model for $100 cheaper before Friday - that's when I pick it up. Thanks,

yea, i read that to.
i think Polaris made the MSRP's $400 less because of the new 600 models.
$6599-SP500
$6999-SP600

i think for the nominal price difference and the 600's extra features, most guys will select the 600.

You got an excellent deal. The Rawhide tres are better. I have a 2002 Silver edition with them and I can tell you they rock compaired to my 2001 with Tracker Ps. You will enjoy your Sportsman ... great machine.

 

The 03 machines have a lower LIST price, but the 02 machines have a bigger discount, making them cheaper as of right now (around here at least).

 

Yeah, what Farmer said. Also, NO GREASE ZERKS on the cool red suspension.

 

Dude - that is an awesome price! I would definitely stick with the 03 - better tires, better belt, better speedo/gauges, less grease zerks. The 600 may be only $400 more list, but you will pay more than $400 more for it as they will be in limited supply and in high demand. I don't suspect you will see them dealing much on the 600's, kinda like they don't on the 700's.

Anyway, that is an excellent price that would be hard to beat. Just get it and ride and don't think twice about it.
