HEy guys,

My gas tank is leaking where the quick connects screw into the plastic tank - not the quick disconnects themselves, but the portion that actually is mounted on the tank. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know how much I can tighten these down? Teflon tape?

Thanks,

btolenti

I'd teflon tape the connections. I don't know how tight you can take them, but I wouldn't go too far!

Since it's a 2003 I assume it's under warranty. Call your dealer and have them get you a new tank. Mine leaked around the cap and they replaced the tank. I didn't even have to take it in, they shipped it to me.

Yep, went through 4 tanks. I was not gonna mess with the connection. They gave me new tanks everytime. This last time I got the new one with connectors in the front. No more leaks!!! There is a lot less pressure on the fittings in the front since there is very little gas up there.
