race report!!!!!!!! knowsalot 's dale against my R !!!!!!!!!results are in
#1
first off, let me describe the track conditions. a nicely mowed yard with light rain. yep, the track was slippery. again, i was running 18"turfs with the ***** cut (tread is over half gone) knowsalot was running 20"holeshots (i think) and they were about 90 percent on tread. my friend's bike had new uncut turfs (18"
. and to be fair to my friend, his bike was running poorly (started misfiring at 3/4 rpms. gotta love them two strokes, lol). when the flag man gave the ready sign, knowsalot was in 1st gear sitting on the gas tank and i was in 2nd gear sitting on the rear seat.knowsalot started off and was trying desperatly to keep the frontend down. (all the way down the track)i was spinning wildly trying to get some traction. i usually got the better start and would end up crossing the finish line first (not always, a bad start and i could not make it up). the same for knowsalot, a bad start and he would not be able to catch me. so it boiled down to who got the better start. once we were up to speed (about thrid gear) i would say we were about equal. (onerace knowsalot road a wheelie the last half of the race and i was unable to catch him) i will have to review the video tape to be sure on all this info. knowsalot has the tape and he will post his thoughts and any corrections that need to be made. the bottom line is all things being equal, knowsalot's c-dale is as fast as my big bore honda or a little bit faster. will have to have a rematch to let it go up against my friends 350 big bore again. i will let knowsalot tell about his dale and his observations. once we were moving traction seem to be ok. i was abled to wheelie in third gear and knowsalot was able to wheelie when ever he wanted. lol also, edsmith was present and witnessed the races and also raced a few times to, but i'll let him tell his thoughts also. also, knowsalot was attempting a 30 + foot double on my practice track and did not make it. cased it twice !!!! hurt him alittle but the dale was totally undamaged. looks like these c-dales are pretty turf.

That's pretty much the report.
One correction....I was starting in 2nd gear.
Like airtime said, it all depended on the start, like all drag races.
If I got a poor start, I would make some ground around 3rd gear, but the last 3/4 of the track was a dead even run amongst all the quads.
Michael now has the video. He is applying to VHS this weekend.
One other thing to mention is that the few runs that Ed Smith participated in, he gave that 265R a very good run for our money considering the quads he was running against.
I could tell that Greg's 350R was missing at high RPMs on some of the runs. I hope he get's it straightened out soon.
That jump where I cased it did a number on both of my feet. I was not feeling comfortable at all today regarding jumping on the track.........but riding a wheelie all the way through 5th gear down that straightaway during the grag race portion was enough of an adrenaline rush for me today.
Airtime,
You have a nice MX track out there. Anytime we can get together for another ride, let me know. Maybe we can have that rematch when the ground dries up.
Michael is going to make your own copy of the video. Stop by the shop next week and i will give it to you.

Most excelent Report. So from what I understand is it's a TIE between these two with winner getting the better start. Tells me the Cannondale is no slouch. All the Cannons are slow have been put to rest.
All this without spending any money on motor mods. WOW. Now I wonder how my Trinity Port and Polished Head would run.
Casing a 30' Triple, my peanuts won't even allow me the chance to try one. Hope you feet feel better soon.

Smitty,
HELP!! I LOST MY RYTHYM!!!
I woke up this morning with fresh feet. No aches, no stinging,....perfect.
Went to try out a new track down the road from here that is designed like the MX tracks of the 1970s. Very fast and with few jumps. I could not work up the nerve to hit any of them!! I mean, I would single them, but double nothing. Everytime I tried, I would back off at the takeoff.....wussing out. I hope this slump doesn't last long. I have an Arena Crosss race next month!!
Oh.......An updated damge report from the casing last night...
No damage to the Bull itself, but broke the welds on both of my AC heelguards that came with the nerf bars. I didn't notice them until I unloaded it at the track today. Nothing major condidering the impact I took.

Fell off the horse, Nerve is what happened not RYTHYM. Just start over with the small stuff and build back up. This is normal after something like that. This condition is of course worse for the smarter people that know what could happen. LOL

Makes sense to me.
I will start over next weekend I suppose.
The earlier the better, because I almost feel that the drag racing bug has bitten and I can't seem to shake the effects.......LOL
Thanks smitty

Patric,I know what you mean with the nerve thing. There were two big doubles at fernwood that I toyed with off and on for three hours and
never done them. Finally my wife and Motown stood by them and encouraged me and I went for them and made it.They helped allot. It workes every time for me when she is there.
