If you can get the front end up, don't worry about hurting your belt too much. Simple trail/mud riding is harder on it than the OCCASIONAL wheelie.
Now, as for your technique...It depends on your weight/strength. I have seen a 500 do a wheelie with the rider just standing on the floorboards and pulling up. My father has an SP 400 and it obviously feels less powerful, though I have never tried a wheelie on it.
If you weigh enough you should just be able to kneel on your seat, gun it, and "bounce". If that doesn't work you could either try standing on the back rack and doing the same, or if that doesn't work you can take the next step and hold your brake until the RPM's come up then let out the brake and punch it and do the same as I mentioned before (either technique).
Now if it comes down to holding in the brake, I don't recommend doing it much.

That's why in my last sentence I said...
"Now if it comes down to holding in the brake, I don't recommend doing it much."
You'll be okay if you only do it once in a great while, but don't do it all day long. Be careful because it can be addicting.
As for you rear seat...You'll have to work around it somehow. I would imagine that you won't be able to get the front end up without at least kneeling on the seat so it may get in your way.

Wheelies wont be easy until you get a clutch kit and pipe.I have done this to both of mine and they will wheelie in low gear by just hammering the gas.
