I had my first race ever yesterday and I did pretty well. The first heat I tried starting in 2nd gear and out of 5 quads I was 4th into the first corner. The only one behind me was a 250EX. I was able to pass everyone to take first in that heat. In the main there was 10 riders and I started in 1st gear. This time I take everyone on the holeshot and take the corner first. By the end of the first lap I had about a 20 quad length lead on the 2nd place Banshee. Then it happened, my throttle cable stuck coming into a corner and I had to hit the rear break quick and she stalled!!! I figured I would just hit the start button but with no luck. After everyone passed me I realized that the throttle cable was still stuck and that's why it would not start. I wiggled the cable and VROOM, off I go again. I was able to pass 2 quads before the race ended, so I got 8th in the main. This was my first race and I feel pretty good about it and will be looking into the throttle cable issue. I recently routed the cable above the bar on the Renthals and think that's what was causing the cable to stick. Anyone else have this happen? Anyways, I love TT Racing and hope to do better next week.

Way to go Sparky! That sounds like some great fun. Too bad on the cable or you'da had a victory.
I had throttle cable problems early on with my cannibal that i couldn't figure out. Replaced the cable , no further problems.

I just wanted to report that I found out why my throttle was sticking. The end of the cable has 2 nuts that fasten it to a post. One of the nuts came loose and was hanging on the cable where it meets the pully thing. When I hit the throttle it would slide down under the pully and when I let off it would stay under the pully and take up extra slack in the cable causing high throttle condition. The bad news is I just found this out and now I need a new cable because the nut has no more threads on it. Looks like I'll be missing the race this Saturday unless by some miracle my local dealer has one in stock.

I had the throttle problem too. Mine was dirt on the pully thing. Luckly it was at open practice wednesday. It still took 1 and a half hours to figure out the simple thing after we blamed everything else.

R&S Performance has alot of parts in stock. We ordered parts Thursday, overnighted and should have them today.
