Beyond the 24volt systems--has anyone tried anything else to help get there bike started faster??? Or What do you think works best for your bike???

I am converting to the twin battery-24 volts to the starter method--- I know this works except for the added starter wear.

Here's a hint, take off the starter and battery and all the heavy crap, than add a kick starter. Maybe your bike will weigh less and you can make up the 5 seconds you lost kick starting it.

The battery thing is the quickest way to start it right now. Jared Huffman is using a toggle switch so after the start he goes back to just running 12 volts instead of 24 all the time. If you make it out to one of the GNCC stop in and talk to him about. He's a real nice guy and is willing to help others out on this issue or anything else about the machine. BTW his national number is #21 in the pro-production class.

I haven't added a second battery, so what I do is leave the thing in netural and prime the engine when the 10 seconds is called. Others things that seem to help is warming the bike up a little more and trickle charging the battery the night before. Other guys have said to rev the engine up and kill it before it idles down, causing it to have a little extra gas in the chamber.

Just curious, but does the cannondale start hard? Or does it just turn over slow due to the high compression? Just wondering.

It's just slow to start do to the fuel injector only dumping fuel at certain times. This is what my dealer told me. It's take about 2-5 seconds to start when engine is warm.

How about if you wired the start button to turn the motor over but not open the injectors or run the fuelpump when you let of the buttonor flip a switch on the throtlle side the fuel goes to and starts the quad?Kind of like a kill switch only just the fuel is involved.Would be really pushing the dead engine rule but hey thats what racing is all about the worst that could happen is they have to right a new rule for fuel injected quads.
