New Owner Needs advice - Extended Warranty on Rubicon?
#1
I am new to this forum, great forum from what I've seen so far. I've got a quick question, I just purchased a 2003 Rubicon, and of course was pressured by the salesman to get the extended warranty. This is my first ATV, so I am in new territory for me. Has anyone else got an opinion on this? I've gone both ways on new vehicle purchases, and have yet to use the warranty.....but then again you never know. One of the reasons I purchased the Rubicon is because of Honda's famed reliability and quality. The Rubicon is in its third year or production, so I would hope that they have improved on any glitches that may have cropped up early on. Any comments would be appreciated.

I just put a deposit on a Rincon I'm trying to decide to get the warranty or not on it? One saleman on the phone told me $400 the other saleman at the store told me $440 for 3 years. How much did they tell you the warranty was?

One thing to keep in mind. Honda only gives you a six month warranty with the purchase of a new ATV. Any extended warranty you purchase beyond that, is of the dealer and not Honda. So make sure to find out exactly what that warranty covers. Does it cover any and all parts? Does it only cover lubricated parts? or does it cover labour only? hopes this may help in making your decision.

I just picked up my new Rancher yesterday, and I was thinking the same thing you are.
I never get extended warrenties because most of them are just a waste of money, but this one is backed by Honda, and good in all 50 states. I also plan to ride this thing every chance I get, and you never know what might come up. I also got the ES tranny, and that seems like just one more of those things that can get screwed up down the road.
