Several Mod questions for a newbie.
#1
1: Does it matter if I have K&N with no jetting change? keeping the rest stock?
2: Can I put the K&N with some jetting?
3: I dont want to mod the airbox.. is a k&n worth it?
4: I want to modify my endcap. cant afford the pipe. Will I still rejet with the K&N and stock airbox?
5: I want the CDI box, moded end cap, and K&N for the final product. Will I notice a differance? is it worth it? I just dont have the cash to do it all at once, thats why I am trying to figure out what piece to get in what order and when I need to rejet.. Thanks..

The K&N and Pipe (modded end cap) open your DS up and move the power curve out. By doing so you will then notice your quad bouncing off the rev limiter. Without the mods you won't notice the difference from a CDI.
The K&N can be used without the Dynojet kit but, you should jet up to a larger size when you use the K&N. You can save money by buying jets only from your local dealer.
I would feel pretty comfortable taking my air box lid off unless you are in streams / rivers / mud up to your seat. If that is the case, I would probably not modify anything on the quad. Most of the guys that do mods only ride in the sand or at a minimum not in extremely wet conditions.
Since you have www.muddivers.com in your sig. I am guessing you do a lot of mud bog riding. In that case I would not modify the DS at all.

Mudstud, you cannot increase air flow without also increasing fuel flow. No matter what you do, you will have to rejet. K&N, no lid, modded end cap, all require rejetting, whether they are done individually or together.
The instructions in the Dynojet kit are very good, and they will be of great help. The needle in the Dynojet kit is why the kit costs so much, and its worth every penny.

MudStud,
Get the K&N, go short on the Pipe, arejet and get the CDI, you will notice a big improvement. If your in the mud though get the Water Proof outerwear for the K&N.
Bill,
I have a bud with a DS650 with RWR full pipe and CDI. He talked about this mod and did it. NO effect, we couldn't make that thing collapse if we wanted. With the motor running and filter off we placed our hand over it and it still didn't collapse, but the motor died.
