I was a dealership last weekend checking out the scrambler 400. One with a date code of 11/4/99 had older style tie rod ends (no boots on the outer) the other bike date code 2/4/00 had the newer ones (I am assuming) with boots.

Just some info for those ready to buy. GJ

Is the dealer willing to give you a break on the older quad due to the changes.

I only found one dealer out of about 10 that was willing to do any negotiating. The others stated a price that was about it. I think they would be more inclined to update the old ones for you before they give you a price break. thats just the feeling i get though. It dont hurt to ask but you may have problems getting them fixed (if they go bad)under warranty if he gave you a deal on it. GJ
