Default stripped bowl screws...

I have stripped the bowl screws on my old carb. I have tried my impact screw driver but it seems that the screws are to striped even for that... anyone have a good way of getting them out.

Just grab them with a "new" (sharp jawed) small vise grip. Works great.

I don't know the bleed screw was really tight also.

Use a dremel and cut a slot in the screw, then use a flat blade screwdriver to get it out.

Also don't forget to replace the screws with 4mm stainless allen head screws.

What JMAC said but use the impact driver in the slot.

Do you have enough meat left to put a slot in them?

I used a dremel tool to cut a slot for a large flat bladed screwdriver into them, it worked. However, I think easier than that, or even easier than buying the impact driver, is to use the same dremel tool, save yourself alot of strain and easily cut off the heads. If you take your time, and don't scar the carb, you'll likely be happy with the results. Personally, since the dremel causes a lot of sparking, and the carburetor contains gas fumes, I had a 20" box fan blowing air over my workspace at full blast to help reduce the risk of ignition, as well as letting the carburetor dry out first. (It was also warm out at the time, made things much nicer!)

I had the same problem on my 2003 Warrior. Try the vice grips. After I fudged mine up my brother said to always break them free with a pair of small vice grips. What a big relief that was. I wish he would've told me sooner.

It must be a law that all mfgs. have to use the cheapest POS screws in the most important places!

The screws are pretty bad so I am just going to use the dremel and cut a slot in them.
