Default Riding without heelguards?

Does anyone ride their DS without heel guards? Would the roll design foot pegs work well without heel guards? Opinions? I have been riding without my stock heel guards and was just curious.

I ride with out the healguards and my plastic is cut. I have yet to run into a problem with this setup. Infact I like it better than with the heal guards. I did hovever buy a pair of riding boots for some extra protection just in case.

Try and watch out for your foot slipping off the peg and going under the tire.

Dsa.. Yeah, I cut my rear plastic as well, and like riding without the stock heelguards. I started wearing riding boots which does make a big difference! Dsa, do you have roll design foot pegs?

I ride without heel guards and like it. But if you ride people on the back its not good. LOL I have had some close encounters.

I have a pair of Roll Design foot pegs and heel guards on order, actually they have been on order for 2 WEEKS!!! waiting for the heel guards to come in. Getting inpatient
I've had my foot go under the tire on a much lighter quad then the DS and it messed me up good and I was wearing a good pair of riding boots. It usually happens when you least expect it like when you land a jump in 4th gear in a race...

if you ride on bumpy areas or {whoops}and jump your ds at all.i would strongly discourage no heel gaurds, boots or no boots.

I still have the stock foot pegs but I want to get the baja ones with the kick ups on the ends. Ihave never had a problem with my feet staying on the pegs and I do tend to air it out a bit.

one of the guys in my area, had his heel guards, and still got ate bye his ds. he had to have his knee rebuilt. he is a new rider and most of the the reason it happened was his fault. but it does show that the effects of a mistake are painful.
