Default Highlifter AC Daylight Kit

I was considering buying this and was wondering whether anyone has any experience with it yet. Is the mount sturdy? How's the performance? Was it difficult to wire?

Thanks.

Check out the one in my photo album of my Cat. It works great and really helps if you do much riding after dark or before light lol. I didn't get mine from Highlifter, I made it myself. I have made and sold many of these through my Cat dealer, and to others. Mine are much cheaper than Highlifters also. They are made from alluminum and are very sturdy. The light that I use is from Auto Zone and is packaged with the "tractor light" name and is a trapazoid beam pattern. I have found that this seems to work better than a spot or flood pattern. You could put any light you want on the mount. I wire it into the high beam so that it comes on when they are on and goes off when it is on low beam. Some have wired it to a seperate switch also.

I'm not electrically inclined so I would need instructions on the wiring. Is it difficult to wire? I'd like to know that I could tackle the job before getting myself into a mess. Would I need to use a high output lighting stator to handle the extra light?

Thanks.

The way I usually do it is to just find the high beam headlight wire then cut the insulation back a little and solder the auxillary light wire onto it. Really simple. Or if you want even easier just put a accessory (cig plug) on it and plug it in. The wiring is the easy part the hardest part is removing the speedo cable and wires to feed up trough the hole in the bracket. It is not hard but just aggravating. They both install the same exact way. I don't know how long Highlifter has had theirs but I had mine on my 98 500 Cat about 2 months after buying it. Who knows maybe great minds think alike. lol
