I heard Through a reliable source that next year the will be a Sportsman 800 EFI.
The unit is currently being used in afganastan. units over there currently have well over 30,000 miles on them. The only said that they have replaced was tires and air filters.

They are NOT useing 800'sin afgani,they use 500's.
They DO NOT have 30'000 miles on them.3000 maybe?

The U.S. army would not send out military units equipped with unproven machines. As others have said, your reliable source is not very reliable.

the sportsman 700 engine came from the new frontier snowmobile that is a 783 cc twin in-line (800) with fuel injection (efi) so i wouln't be surprised if polaris FINALLY get the motor at full bore with the complete package into a new sportsman 800 4x4 torque monster quad,great news!

 

I agree with that,but I dont think it's gonna happen next year.

 

I have heard from a Polaris employee that Polaris has been testing a new 120H/P four stroke engine all summer in a couple of specially built water toys. They hope to put these in a new line of snowmobile. Seems fitting that it would also be considered for a new ATV......

 

That would be soooooooo sweet if they lowered a 120 h/p engine into an Atv. Im sure it would kick anythings ***! im gunna start savin up just for the hell of it!!!!!!!!
