halfshaft and bearings for 300 4x4
#1
I am helping a friend repair his 1991 Honda 300 4x4. Outboard CV-joints on both left and right front driveshafts are worn and are clicking. Local Honda dealer wants $275 for a halfshaft. Also, this machine needs front wheel bearings on each side ($50/side).
Does anyone know if the CV-joints can be rebuilt like on an automobile? Where? How much? If not, where is the cheapest place to buy new halfshafts and wheel bearings.
Thanks,
Greg McKinney

I'm not sure about the drive shaft part, but I think the bearings can be found cheaper than 50 a piece. My friend has a bayou 220 and replaced his bearings, they were 16 a piece, but it didnt include the work.
