Default New Polaris 600 Twin

All I want to know is if the new polaris 600 twin will out run a grizzly 660. You think a 600 twin would out run a 600 single cylinder right? I don't want a 700 because of the coolant and front shock problems ive been hearing about. There both the same price too I think. I just like a polaris better. They have more groung clearence and a better ride. Well if any one knows the answer to my question please tell me.

i've never heard of any front shock problem on the 700.
as for the leakers out there, dealers have the new kit to fix them- the new water pump bracket is the same as a 600. the leaky water pump is really a mood point and there is really no good reason to overlook the now fine 700.
there's my 2 cents.
see-ya,

I got rid of my 660 Grizz, just because I didn't like the way it handled, and we rolled it three times. It has great power, probably beat the 600 Polaris twin. But I would take the Polaris just because of the overall packaging. Polaris handles way better, has great tires, is really solid. Yamaha went to great lengths to keep the weight down on the Grizz, the tires are crap, the floorboards are really flimsy, it is too narrow and as I said, the handling is downright squirrly. The Grizz in a sandwash is fast for a utility, but is all over the place. The Polaris track sure and true, ride better and handle way better.

Twitchell,

If you look at the posts you will see that most of the time the Polaris actually edges out the Yamaha Grizz and how many times now have we heard about the inability of the Grizzly keeping firmly on the ground. It seems as this must be true or at least the consensus for the most part. I am in the market myself for the 600 Twin due to the smoother IRS and power and smoothness of a Twin powerplant. If dimensions are important the 500, 600, and 700 Sportsman are all the same size just a different engine beneath you.

I would like to know what the cheapest price quoted to everyone has been on the 600Twin. All the local dealers are trying to get MSRP so I may have to travel 3 hours to get mine in the southern part of the state.

I was just quoted for a 03 600 twin for $6529otd. With deluxe plow package with 60" blade and manual lift, $7029. Then with plow and 2500lb winch installed, $7480.

Thanks for the info. GE4x4....I have been quoted $6600 + TTL, which is 3% of purchase price and about another $50...so about $6850 out the door. It looks as if my negotiating cap must be put on and see if I can get it out the door for about $6600. Just trying to save some money so I can get a few extra's right off the bat..... Hey you can roll a 700 too. I know I did. I had my not so bright friend on the back and I went to go up a steep but short embankment. Next thing I know hes headed over the back taking me with him. The thing came down on top of us and he got a nice visit to the xray machine. I didnt get hurt at all because his air head soaked up the drop. I just made sure to push the machine off while it still had momentum. If it comes to a stop on top of yah you are in trouble. I had a cousin die some 8 years ago from a bike landing on him in a shallow stream. He was at our favorite hunting spot all by himself. They didnt find him for 3 weeks. gropin.

i don't think anyone believes you can buy a 600 for $300 LESS than a 500!
