I have a 2002 Eiger and love it and now a want a 500 and now they have come out with a 5 speed I trust it a lot more. I do not like automatics I run in a lot of deep water and the auto's seem to always get wet. The new vinson seems great now that it has a 5 speed. Has anyone got one yet and if so how do you like it.

I also have an eiger 5 speed and since I was so impressed with it i went to trade it in on a vinson 5spd. I brought my machine to the dealer who would give me $4100 twards the Vinson, (not bad I paid $4700) So I test drove the vinson, great machine. But there was not $2000 difference between the two machines. So I kept the eiger. Its almost just as fast, accel is really close, and slow speed riding is actually better than the Vinson. The Vinson can be pushed at higher speed due to better suspension.

So I think it would be wiser to get some adjustable shocks, alluminum rims and a pipe for the eiger and still have a grand left.

Its just the Eiger is really an unbelievable machine in its class.

I do think the Vinson is the best 500 class machine, but if I were you and looking for a second machine, Buy a 650 prairie.... Or another eiger. you should be able to get a prairie for 200$ more than the vinson. Too bad its an auto...
