flipping lakotas front rims
#2
I believe Gaff on this forum has flipped his with pretty good results on the handling, Im sure he will be able to point you in the right direction as he has always been real helpful on here with everyone. How do you like your wheel spacers, have they held up pretty good, and have you noticed any warping of your rear axle from jumping with the spacers on?
Thanks,
Dirthead

the wheel spacers work great. they make the quad alot more stable. i have not noticed any warping at all but i don't really jump that much the most air i get is like 2 feet. thats why i chose the wheel spacers instead of spending mor for the axle.

when i flipped the front wheels on my mojave i went to the local autoparts store and found some short valve stems. I put these on in place of the stock ones and they cleared the brake caliper when i flipped the wheels. When i flipped my fr wheels, i also flipped the fronts on my brothers warrior. Both machines have been like this for the past 6 months with no problem. we both jump our machines and ride them hard with no problems yet. I have heard that flipping the wheels will put more stress on your spindles so i will have to wait and see how long we can go before we encounter problems.

hay guys.
I flipped mine last year and have 17 races and I have no idea on how many practices yet. But it works graet and I'm very happy I did it. I also found no ill affects of it yet.
The shorty stems didn't work for me. I drilled a 7/16th hole in the other side of the rims and installed valve stems. Then I removed the original valve stems and flipped them around facing in (glue the caps on first). Even with the valve stems turned around it just clears the callipers.
Never had a leaky tire or anything. Works graet and handles waaaaaaay better.

I have done it to the mojave as well. With the mojave and lakota the chassis except for the swing arm, are exactly the same. Unless you have a tape measure the swing arms are the same too. The wheels are a bit different, but it works the same way.
And if some one has found they aren't the same, I just haven't seen it. I had 2 of them next to each other without the plastic, I just couldn't find a difference except the color.
