165 Mikuni is stock, if you went from a 165 to a 190, that is a huge jump. I had a 190 Dynojet which is approximatly a 178 mikuni, and that was too rich for my ATV at 3000' feet. I just changed to a 185 Dynojet and will see how it runs. Your 190 mikuni is closer to a 203 dynojet. You should try getting the 170, 175, 180, 185 jets. Since you've got the 190 and it stumbles a lot, try the 185 with a brand new pair of plugs and see what happens. If it goes OK, run it for three hours then check the plugs, if they are black go down to the 180 and run it for another three hours then check. The stock position for the screw is 2.5 turns out, however when I went by someone else's instructions on how to adjust it, mine seemed to want to be at three turns, I've also heard this screw has only a little to do with how it runs overall and isn't going to make a huge difference. If you end up spending a lot of cash on jets, you might consider the dynojet kit, since it has everything from a 160 up to a 200 in it (Dynojet numbered, of course.)

I have all the Mikuni jets between 165 and 180 (165, 167.5, 170, 172.5, 175,..)that I no longer need as I just installed my Dynojet kit. let me know if you are interested in them.

Buttfungus and Blackhawk are right on. You are waaaay too rich. You will probably end up with a 170 or 175 Mikuni. We are at the same elevation and that is what I used successfully until I bought the Dynojet kit. I highly recommend the Dynojet or K&N kits for the first time jetter. Use the set-up for below 3000 ft in the instructions and you should be happy with the performance.

Your way too rich. - I run the same setup as you.
Big Gun Full Race
R/W CDI
K&N Carb Mount
I live in Phoenix AZ. Elev. Approx 1200 ft.
Big Gun recommendes a 175 Main Jet and that's what I use. Never had a problem.
Try a 175 Mikuni - I wager that's your problem.

thanks guys i will do that this weekend. btw, while tunning and testing all day going back and forth with butfungus , i woke up this morning and found that i forgot to put back the big spring after moving the clip on the needle. DUUUHHHH. well i put it in and it still cuts out about 6rpm so i will be getting the 175 like u guys suggest.
PS. what rpm should i be able to hit with the ron woods cdi?
